24 Hour Video Race is BACK!!!
It’s that time of year again! Time for the IC Microcinema’s annual 24hr Video Race!
Starting Line: Noon, Saturday 9/22 @ 115 N. Dodge (ICE Film Fest Rummage & Bake Sale)
Finish Line: Noon, Sunday 9/23 @ Fair Grounds Coffee (aka Vegan Waffles, corner of Court and Dubuque)
Screening: 5pm, Sunday 9/23 @ Fair Grounds Coffee
The Basics:
At noon on Saturday, you can pick up your *Free* mystery prop from the IC Microcinema booth at the ICE Film Festival Rummage & Bake Sale (115 N. Dodge). Make a video containing this prop. Bring it to the finish line at noon on Sunday (at Fair Grounds). Then come back at 5pm for a fun, exciting, unbelievably cool screening of the video race movies (and a great game of Bingo!)
Complete Rules:
1. All Eastern Iowa residents (and beyond) are eligible.
2. Entry is FREE.
3. Accepted formats are mini-DV and VHS; DVD is accepted, but because DVDs don’t always play in all players, please have a backup tape as well.
4. Videos must be three minutes in length or shorter. Editing is allowed.
5. Your video must include the mystery prop in some way–image or sound.
6. Groups and collaborations are allowed and encouraged.
7. Include an entry form with your entry–available at the Starting Line or downloadable here. 24hr Video Race Entry Form.
8. Label your tape ON THE TAPE ITSELF with your name, the title of the video, and the running time.
9. Prizes to be at Bingo at the final screening.
10. Beginners and veterans alike are encouraged to participate. No experience necessary!
This event is free and open to everyone. (You should come to the screening even if you don’t make a video! It’s so much fun!!!)
